I am an experienced Chartered Accountant who built up my own accountancy practice from scratch; Lanham and Company formed in 1986. I remain involved in mainly specialist roles and as Chairman of the Board.
In 2003, having become increasingly involved in social housing, I left the practice in the hands of my partners to spend two years as Director of Resources for Broadland Housing Association in Norfolk which manages around 4,000 homes.
Following that, in 2006, I became Finance Director of Reidmark Limited the supplier of housing software with which Broadland Housing had been a development partner. This ceased in 2008.
In the past I have also been a director of many organisations including, small businesses, other housing associations, charities and a building society.
I trained first in London and then provincially where I received rapid promotion reaching partnership in a Cambridge firm in my mid twenties. In 1986 I formed my own practice. Through a commitment to service and to developing the staff the firm has grown to a point where it now runs itself although I still provide some strategic support and advice to the firm and to its clients. I qualified in 1978 and am an FCA.
